If you love physical exfoliating then you will absolutely fall head over heels for this pro-level microdermabrasion exfoliator! It’s a lightweight cream which targets texture, lines & wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. This cult-favorite exfoliator combines pro-grade aluminum oxide crystals + lactic acid to polish, remove dead skin cells and soften skin! 

Since this offers such a deep exfoliating formula, I recommend (especially for sensitive skin) that you use no more than 1x per week on damp skin using a very cautiously gentle, methodically slow massage.  After each use, I’ve definitely experienced impressively radiant skin that’s truly baby soft. I follow up this treatment with an array of gentle, soothing & calming products but no acids or Retinols, etc.

❤️My Tip: use this on the back of your hands, gently massage in with slow circular motions to reveal super soft skin.

Product Review: Facetheory!

The Glycolic Acid Face & Body Scrub: Product Review

A bestseller & highly rated Scrub from Facetheory, offered in Mandarin scent & unscented is a gentle yet capable, results driven scrub that’s ideal for both face & body. It features 2% glycolic acid + 1% salicylic acid. The addition of natural jojoba grains combine to give you a non-irritating exfoliating treatment.

My experience: I first splash warm water on my face then proceed to gently massage in this thick, creamy scrub for about 1 minute. It sorta creates a pleasing paste like mask, which I then leave on for another minute. (Massage any leftover on the back of your hands - they’ll thank you for this extra step!) The light mandarin oil scent is divine & definitely adds a lot to this routine. Rinsing with warm water + cleansing cloth is the most efficient way for me to remove since it is a bit of a thicker formula.

This product contains alpha/beta hydroxy acids, so I’m sure to avoid using on the same day as any retinol routines. Since I have dry skin, I only utilize this one time per week.

For a noteworthy mini facial use this scrub after Facetheory’s Vitamin C Cream Cleanser then finish with their Relaxing Night Cream = a trifecta of skincare routines!

It’s also a wonderful body scrub - especially effective for back of upper arms which for me is a problem area that tends to get extra dry & rough! This scrub really helps with that - creating a smooth canvas to follow with one of my go-to moisturizers! I was initially interested in this scrub due to its multi-tasking versatility - I do love a good multipurpose product!

Product Review: The Relaxing Night Cream from Facetheory

Relaxing Night Cream M10 - Lavender Scent (also comes in an unscented version) offers the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C & E, and Argan Oil.

The delicate lavender scent of this nourishing night cream is very relaxing - it enhances my nighttime routine by providing moisture, antioxidant protection & calmness.

💙 The HA + glycerin in this formula helps skin retain moisture

💙 The naturally sourced Ferulic Acid works with vitamin E to protect

💙 The Omega acid rich Argan Oil calms & soothes distressed skin - I feel this is what my skin benefits most from!

Since I have dry + dehydrated skin, I need to add-in some extra moisturizing ingredients.

Next I gently pat on my must-have Snail Essence.

⭐️ Well, it really does give me a hydrated glow! I appreciate the light scent and a rich yet not heavy feel on my skin. I use this cream during am & pm routines and it of course is the ideal partner to the mask.

This duo packs a powerful punch, so I use it only once a month. As a 15 minute mask, I would recommend no more than once a week ☺️

Product Review: The Hand Cream from Facetheory

The Chirosmooth Hand Cream from Facetheory has quickly become a go-to in my collection. I have some tried & true must-haves but I was starting to run low and decided to try something new. Fun!

This hand cream contains:

Korean Rice 

Omega-6 rich Rice bran oil 

5% Urea

It definitely Softens & hydrates my Uber-dry, over washed hands!! Even after a few washes, my hands remain hydrated. It’s a keeper 💜

Like all Facetheory products, this rich hand cream contains a high concentration of actives so a very small amount goes a long way...

Tips & Tricks: lip savers

Rescue dry, chapped lips with this lip-saving tip!

A fellow skincare enthusiast kindly gave me this awesome tip: Layer HA with your fave lip balm for extra hydration - a true lip saver during the cold, dry weather!

How to: grab some Hyaluronic Acid Serum (I use my fave from Good Molecules!) and tap on/around your lips - it dries down quickly. Now slather on your fave lip balm... I love using the Super Moisture Lip Balm from Beauty Pie. This method is ideal for daytime use and as a sleeping mask.

Skincare Series: Dynamic Duos

Today I’m back with another entry in my Dynamic Duo Series: Episode 3

“The Energizing Eye Kit” from Good Molecules includes their highly-acclaimed Yerba Mate Wake up Eye Gel + their Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches

What is Yerba Mate?? It’s a tree indigenous to South America.

Did you know: Good Molecules sources their Yerba Mate from a consortium of farmers engaged in forest restoration of the native Atlantic Forest of Brazil! Very cool!!

The Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel:

🌿Created to brighten, depuff & hydrate

🌿Can be used in both your am & pm routines - at night I layer it with a rich eye cream which helps “seal it in” and sorta creates an eye mask situation.

💥My Results: Honestly, I was doubtful but stand corrected because it does waken up & brighten my tired eyes. It’s subtle, but I’ll take it!  This also adds back some much needed moisture - while helping to sooth my skin & soften fine lines!!  I do prefer this light, gel formula for my nighttime routine.

💥 Pro tip: I find that the key to optimal benefit is to gently press in the gel as you slowly move your ring finger outwards towards corner of eyes.

The Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches:

🌿Caffeine-infused eye masks that offer a very cooling & hydrating effect. Said to brighten, hydrate & reduce puffiness.

🌿Sleepless night?? This is just what you need to look well-rested! To reduce puffy under eyes, wear for 10 minutes then tap in excess. The HA will help boost moisture and the Niacinamide will soften fine lines.

Product Review: 10Balm from INdeed Labs

10Balm to the rescue!!

💙 A best-seller from Indeed Labs, this little healing cream is ideal for sensitive and/or irritated skin. Either the dry winter weather has taken its toll or maybe you (like me) went a little overboard with the Retinols, AHA’s, exfoliants, etc... and now your skin needs some TLC.

I grab this nourishing cream because it’s packed with powerful ingredients such as:

• Honey Extract
• Propolis Extract
• Royal Jelly Extract
• All known for their healing & renewing properties. 

The 10Balm is also an important component in my winter skincare routine because it works in synergy with other calming, soothing & hydrating products like the Niacinamide Skin Mist, Centella Green Level Buffet Serum & Liquid Filler Moisturizing Gel.
